GARWOOD, NEW JERSEY
Garwood 1940s

I made this and the 1903 drawing of Garwood large so you could see as much detail as possible, maybe even your home.  In this photo taken around the late 1940's you can see some interesting things.  Notice that there are no homes on Myrtle and Spruce Ave at the bottom right of the photograph.  Also note the factories along South Avenue where the Garwood Mall and Home Depot now stand.  Also on the North Side  St . Anns Church stands on 2nd Avenue but there is NO School and the current church parking lot has homes in it on North Ave.   Also there are 3 public schools on the corner of 2nd and Center Street.  Jefferson School was torn down by 1950.
